When you sign up for coverage during a special enrollment period, the date your coverage starts will be different depending on:

• What your qualifying event is
• The date we get your requested documents (application, Account Change Form, or subsidy eligibility form)
• Where you live

For Oregon - Gaining, becoming, or losing a dependent, or death of a subscriber or a dependent

If you gain or become a dependent through marriage or domestic partnership registration:

Your coverage will start on the first day of the month following receipt of your application.

If you gained or became a dependent through the birth of a child, adoption, or placement for adoption or foster care:

Your coverage will start on the date of birth, adoption, or placement for adoption or foster care, or the first day of the month following that date, whichever option you choose.
